MISSISSAUGA, ON, Oct. 17 /CNW/ - With the holiday travel booking season
fast approaching, the Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) wants
vacationers to know that they will have peace of mind when booking through a
TICO registered travel agency.
The travel industry's provincial watchdog is getting their message out to
consumers in a fun and unique way. TICO has launched a consumer awareness
campaign featuring an adorable border terrier named "Tico the Travel
Watchdog." Tico is featured in an array of advertising mediums, one of which
is a striking graphic completely wrapped around a TTC streetcar, depicting the
dog snorkeling with friends under warm Caribbean waters.
TICO President Michael Pepper says his message is this: "When consumers
book with a registered Ontario travel agency, they enjoy all the benefits of
Ontario's strict consumer protection laws including protection from Ontario's
Travel Compensation Fund."
TICO will officially launch its consumer awareness campaign at a special
launch/photo-op in front of the TICO street car on Tuesday, October 21st at
