Media Advisory - The Hon. Marilyn Trenholme Counsell to visit a Welcome to Kindergarten workshop

    FREDERICTON, NB, June 15 /CNW/ -

    WHAT:        The Hon. Marilyn Trenholme Counsell and Veronica Lacey, The
                 Learning Partnership, will be visiting pre-school students
                 and their families from Naskwaaksis Memorial School who are
                 participating in a Welcome to Kindergarten(TM)/Bienvenue à
                 la Maternelle(MC) workshop.

                 Developed by The Learning Partnership, Welcome to
                 Kindergarten/Bienvenue à la Maternelle is a program that
                 provides resources which enable parents and teachers to help
                 prepare students for the start of kindergarten by
                 introducing early literacy and numeric learning skills. The
                 Senator has been instrumental in bringing the Welcome to
                 Kindergarten program to pre-school children and their
                 parents in New Brunswick. This year, more than
                 20,000 families are participating in Welcome to Kindergarten
                 programs across Canada.
