TORONTO, Sept. 19 /CNW/ - September 28th - 30th the Canadian Prostate
Cancer Research Initiative (CPCRI) and the Canadian Prostate Cancer Network
(CPCN) will host researchers, clinicians and prostate cancer survivors to
review medical and scientific progress made in the last decade since the first
National Prostate Cancer Forum to relieve the burden of this disease in
The conference "A Decade of Progress, A Future of Hope" will be held at
The Westin Harbour Castle, Harbour Ballroom and will report on progress and
innovation in the prevention, early detection and diagnosis, treatment, and
survivorship of prostate cancer.
Media will be invited to attend Keynote Speaker presentations to learn
about the advances in prostate cancer research and how they benefit men and
their families living with the disease. A full listing of events will be

The Canadian Prostate Cancer Research Initiative is a partnership of
organizations committed to reducing the incidence of, and mortality due to,
prostate cancer. Comprised of representatives from the National Cancer
Institute of Canada (NCIC), the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS), the Canadian
Prostate Cancer Network (CPCN) and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research
(CIHR), the Initiative is the only national funding organization that focuses
on research into all areas of prostate cancer, and its goal is to reduce
prostate cancer incidence and death.
