              Stephen Lewis is one of the world's most influential speakers
              on human rights, social justice and international development.
              He will deliver a presentation about increasing social
              responsibility globally.

    WHO:      Stephen Lewis has dedicated himself to improving the human
              condition as a politician, diplomat and international envoy for
              humanitarian efforts. The Stephen Lewis Foundation (SLF) helps
              ease the pain of HIV/AIDS in Africa by funding grassroots
              projects that help individuals, families and communities
              ravaged by the pandemic. He has worked in a number of
              leadership positions with the United Nations from 1984 to 2006:
              as the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in
              Africa from 2001 to 2006; as deputy Executive Director of
              UNICEF at the organizations global headquarters in New York
              from 1995 to 1999 and as Canada's Ambassador to the UN from
              1984 to 1988. In 2007, the Kingdom of Lesotho named him Knight
              Commander of the Most Dignified Order of Moshoeshoe - it is the
              country's highest honour.

    About the 5th World Science Centre Congress
    The Ontario Science Centre is hosting the 5th Science Centre World
Congress from June 15 to 19, 2008 at the Metro Toronto
Convention Centre. Themed Science Centres as Agents of Change-Locally,
Nationally and Internationally, this is the first time the congress is being
held in North America. This triennial international event brings together CEOs
and senior decision makers from the world's leading science centres to discuss
issues and opportunities in the field, and the central role science
organizations play in increasing the public's engagement with science.
