Media Advisory - South African banking executives choose Toronto for prestigious training program

TORONTO, June 8 /CNW/ - There will be a breakfast reception and news
conference to welcome 16 South African banking executives to Toronto to attend
the 3rd BANKSETA International Executive Development Program (IEDP 2007). IEDP
2007 has been organized by the Banking Sector Education and Training Authority
of South Africa (BANKSETA) in association with the Toronto Financial Services
Alliance (TFSA) and Toronto Economic Development.
The six-week program in Canada includes formal studies at the Schulich
School of Business and the Rotman School of Management, as well as working
sessions hosted by Canadian bankers. The program is designed to accelerate the
development of senior, high-potential managers who belong to historically
disadvantaged groups of people in South Africa. BANKSETA has repeatedly chosen
Toronto for the overseas segment of the IEDP because of the quality of
training available, the scope and sophistication of the Canadian banking
sector and its leadership practices, and the City of Toronto's reputation for
diversity and inclusiveness.
Reporters are welcome to attend the breakfast reception, meet the
delegates and the organizers of IEDP 2007, and learn more about the program.
