Media Advisory - Silicon Valley Guru to Moderate Panel on Future of Calgary's High-Tech Business Community

    Is Calgary primed to be Canada's Silicon Valley?

    CALGARY, Dec. 10 /CNW/ - Guy Kawasaki, best-selling author and Silicon
Valley venture capitalist, will moderate a breakfast panel discussion with
some of Calgary's top high-tech entrepreneurial minds on December 14th, 2007
at the Globe Theatre. The panel discussion will examine Calgary's potential as
a global tech business hub. Nearly 300 business and technology enthusiasts
have pre-registered to attend this "sold out" event.

    BACKGROUND: Recent news stories have featured Calgary-based
    technology-driven companies including VoodooPC, iStockphoto, StumbleUpon,
    Veer, and NovAtel. What do these companies have in common? They have all
    been acquired by international high-tech mega-players. What does it take
    to grow a flourishing community of innovators beyond start-up in our own
    Wired West?

    Who:        Panel moderator is Guy Kawasaki, Silicon Valley author and
                venture capitalist.

    What:       Panel discussion featuring leaders from Calgary high-tech
                firms including Veer (Corbis), iStockphoto (Getty), VoodooPC
                (HP), CoolIT Systems, as well as representatives of tech
