Media Advisory - Shore Power Announcement at Canada Place

    Participants in precedent-setting environmental initiative gather for
    commissioning of shore power system.

    METRO VANCOUVER, Aug. 28 /CNW/ - A significant environmental project
involving cruise ships at Port Metro Vancouver will be unveiled at the Canada
Place cruise ship terminal on Monday, August 31st.
    This initiative involves the Government of Canada, the Government of
British Columbia, Port Metro Vancouver, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises
and BC Hydro.

    Who:   Mr. Andrew Saxton, Parliamentary Secretary to the President of the
           Treasury Board, and Member of Parliament for North Vancouver

           The Honourable Blair Lekstrom, Minister of Energy, Mines and
           Petroleum Resources, Province of British Columbia

           Ms. Lisa Coltart, Executive Director, Power Smart and Customer
           Care, BC Hydro

           Mr. Charlie Ball, Senior Vice President, Princess Cruises

           Mr. William J. Morani Jr., Vice President, Environmental
           Management Systems, Holland America Line

           Mr. Robin Silvester, President and Chief Executive Officer, Port
           Metro Vancouver

    What:  Joint announcement of commissioning of Shore Power at Canada
           Place. Shore power is an innovative and highly effective means of
           reducing marine diesel air emissions by enabling ships to shut
           down their engines while docked and connect to the power grid for
           access to necessary electrical power.

    Where: Port Metro Vancouver office, 100 The Pointe, 999 Canada Place
           -  Parking available in the parkade at Canada Place
           -  Access to PMV reception using elevator at north end of Canada
              Place parkade (P1 or P2)

    When:  Monday, August 31, 2009
           9:30am Media Registration
           10:00am Press Conference
           Followed by a 30 minute Q&A session / photo Op

    Note:  An opportunity for dockside access to record images of the shore
           power connection occurring in real time will be available at
           approximately 8:00am. Please be at the dock level by 7:30 am.
           Operational requirements limit this to cameras only (photographers
