TORONTO, June 12 /CNW/ -
What: Most people would agree that the way to improve student
learning lies in the classroom. But what conditions need to be
in place to enable teachers to make a difference? The
Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO) is holding
its first international symposium on teacher working conditions
to focus on this key question for student learning.
Who: Speakers from Canada, the U.S. and England will explore a
number of themes that promote teacher working conditions and
identify strategies to make positive working conditions a part
of every school environment.
A closing panel will identify key conclusions of the symposium
and needed actions to ensure positive teacher working
conditions are in place to support student learning.
When: June 14, 4:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
June 15, 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Where: Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, 123 Queen Street West, Toronto,
