Media advisory - Public forum in Miramichi on Sunday to discuss a "better way" for the Northern New Brunswick economy



    OTTAWA, Aug. 24 /CNW Telbec/ - The first in what is planned to be a
series of public forums to develop a "better way" to solve the economic crisis
in Northern New Brunswick will be held in Miramichi this Sunday.

    
    WHERE?  Lion's Club Hall

    WHEN?   Sunday, August 26 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

    WHO?    Dave Coles, President, CEP
            Honourable John Foran, MLA and Cabinet Minister
            John McKay, Mayor of Miramichi
            Roger Duguay, N.B. Common Front for Social Justice
            Other business and political representatives

    WHY?    To develop community input on future economic development in
            Miramichi and Northern New Brunswick
    

    The Forum will be moderated by Ervan Cronk, Atlantic Region Vice
President of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada,
sponsors of the event.
    "It is time we all started working together to build a better way for
mill workers and others who are facing unemployment across Northern New
Brunswick," Mr. Cronk said. "This forum in Miramichi is the beginning of that
process."
