Media Advisory - Province-wide energy conservation program achieves major milestone

TORONTO, Jan. 23 /CNW/ - The Ontario Power Authority (OPA) will announce
the outcome of the first year of the OPA's Great Refrigerator Roundup - one of
18 it is now operating to prompt a "culture of conservation" in Ontario.
The program exceeded its first-year target in 2007 and has just surpassed
another significant milestone as year two begins. It sees old, inefficient
appliances removed, ripped apart, crushed, and recycled - leading to permanent
energy savings.
For complete details, please attend a media briefing at the Queen's Park
Media Studio:

                                  11:15 a.m.

Participating in the briefing will be:

        - Ontario's Chief Energy Conservation Officer Peter Love
        - OPA Vice President Conservation and Sector Development Paul

Minister of Energy Gerry Phillips is expected to participate in
