TORONTO, Aug. 23 /CNW/ - The World Series of Video Games (WSVG) Presented
by Intel is making its first-ever stop on Canadian soil at Fan Expo Canada at
the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South Hall, August 24-26, 2007.
What: The WSVG is the largest video game tournament to ever come to
Canada. Gamers from around the world will be battling it out for
more than US $70,000 in cash prizes.
Doug Cooper, country manager for Intel of Canada and Matthew
Ringel, commissioner of the World Series of Video Games will be on
hand to speak to media about the WSVG and the exploding popularity
of video games in Canada and around the world.
Also available for interviews will be members of Team EG (Evil
Geniuses) who represent some of the best gamers in Canada
sponsored by Intel. Members of Team EG can discuss what it's like
to be a professional gamer and provide tips and tricks on some of
the latest video games.
Intel will also be hosting an exhibit area where gamers and media
can try out the latest PC's designed specifically for gaming with
Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Extreme processors. They can also get behind
the wheel of a replica Formula 1 racing simulator.
