OTTAWA, June 1 /CNW/ - Ottawa Mayor Larry O'Brien proclaimed June 3rd to
June 7th "Photonics Week in Ottawa." Ontario is a recognized leader in
photonics, and Photonics Week in Ottawa celebrates the resurgence of photonics
as a central technology for telecom, biotechnology, infrastructure and more.
Over the week, five exciting events offer insights into the work being
done and the advances achieved by some of the leading people in the field.
Photonics Week brings together an international roster of speakers and
delegates, including key players from China, France and Arizona. The Technical
Symposium includes 26 invited papers, as well as keynote and plenary speakers
such as Stan Lumish, CTO of JDS Uniphase, Dr. Richard De La Rue from Glasgow
University, Siegfried Janz from Institute for Microstructural Sciences and
Brian Wilson from University of Toronto.
