Media Advisory - Photo/Image Opportunity - The Canadian Cancer Society's Daffodil Days: A Blooming Hope to win against cancer

    To kick off Canadian Cancer Society's Daffodil Days
    and mark the official beginning of Cancer Month,
    the media are invited for interviews
    and to a photo shoot of a superb flower display
    made of fresh daffodils composing the word HOPE.
    Canadian Cancer Society's information booths and volunteers
    selling flowers will also be on premises.

    When:   Thursday, March 29th, 2007, from 11 am to 5 pm

    Where:  Grande-Place, complexe Desjardins, downtown Montreal

    At lunch time (noon to 1 pm), two volunteers from the Canadian Cancer
    Society, Dr. Christiane Laberge, the resource person for health issues on
    the TVA Network, and Ms. Nicole Beauchemin, Professor and Researcher at
    the McGill Cancer Centre and a breast cancer survivor herself, will give
    a conference on cancer prevention and detection, as well as on some of
    the positive leads being followed by researchers.

    Daffodil Days will take place across Quebec,
    from Thursday, March 29th to Sunday, April 1st, 2007.
    Over 2 million freshly cut daffodils
    (symbolizing courage and hope) will be on sale
    at some 2,600 outlets across the province
    (department stores, shopping centres, banks, supermarkets,
    office buildings, pharmacies, etc.).
    In Quebec, the goal is $2.5 million.
