ST-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU, QC, Aug. 5 /CNW Telbec/ - Over 2,000 cadets will
gather on the Plains of Abraham on Sunday, August 10, 2008, to wish Quebec
City a happy anniversary and give a musical performance created especially for
Quebec City's 400th anniversary.
The 2,000 cadets will depart at 12:30 pm from the four corners of the
Plains of Abraham (Grande Plaine, Terrasse Grey, Promenade des Gouverneurs and
Maison des Découvertes) with four giant banners. They will assemble outside
the Musée des beaux-arts and bring the four banners together to reveal their
message to Quebec City. An aerial photo of the message and the 2,000 cadets
will be taken at that time. Afterwards, the cadets will head to the Edwin
Bélanger Kiosk for the musical performance, which will begin at 2:00 pm.
This musical extravaganza for all ages will include music, theatre and
visual performances with singing, dancing and period dress. Among other
surprises, the Cadet Band will bring back the great era of Cabaret Chez
Gérard. The audience will be charmed by the professional performance and the
energetic young cadets aged 12 to 18. To close, all of the 2,000 cadets will
sing together to wish Quebec City a happy anniversary.
The media and the general public are invited to this event. Come one come
all to celebrate Quebec City's 400th anniversary with our youth.
