ORILLIA, ON, May 26, 2011 /CNW/ - Members of the media are invited to attend a brief ceremony to mark the handover of two replacement helicopters to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Aviation Services. The ceremony will be held Friday, May 27, 2011 on the front lawn at OPP General Headquarters, located at 777 Memorial Avenue in Orillia.

Invited guests - including Hon. Jim Bradley, Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services for Ontario and officials from Eurocopter Canada Ltd. - will be greeted by OPP Commissioner Chris Lewis as well as members of OPP Aviation Services who operate and maintain police aircraft.

All attending members of the media -- including photographers/videographers -- are asked to be in place by 10:50 a.m. The formal program will begin at 11:00 a.m. Invited guests and members of the media will then be escorted to the OPP Helipad for one-on-one interviews and photos.

Attending members of the media will be greeted at the main entrance of OPP General Headquarters and assigned parking spaces at that time.

For non-attending media, a link to a backgrounder and photos of the OPP helicopters will be contained in a media release to be distributed when the program begins.
