Media Advisory - Ontario misleads citizens about impact of pesticide ban

    OTTAWA, April 20 /CNW/ - Ontario's ill-conceived Cosmetic Pesticides Act,
which comes into effect April 22, 2009, will not have positive impacts on
human health or the environment, despite the provincial government's claims.
Dr. Lorne Hepworth, president of CropLife Canada, the trade association
that represents developers, manufacturers and distributors of plant science
innovations like pesticides, is available to comment on the false premise
behind Ontario's ban and the ways in which plant science innovations help
sustain a strong and healthy environment.
