Media Advisory - On Your Marks...Get Set...Spell! Over 500 Phonetic Phenoms Compete in Regional Spelling Bee at Malvern Town Centre

TORONTO, March 29 /CNW/ - Vowels and consonants vie for verbal supremacy
as the Toronto District School Board NE4 regional championship kicks off at
the Malvern Town Centre on Saturday, March 29th. Since 1987, Spelling Bee of
Canada has been showcasing the spelling prowess of Canadian youth through its
annual spelling bee competition. This year, syllables and suspense will go
hand-in-hand as over 500 primary, intermediate and junior students from the
Scarborough area put their word wizardry to the test during the two-day event.
Divisional winners will compete in Spelling Bee of Canada's Ontario
Championship Finals later in the spring. In addition, the first place finisher
in each category will receive a $500 prize, while the second and third place
finishers will receive $300 and $150 respectively. All prize money is awarded
