Media Advisory - Nurses' Union Seeks Permanent Relief for Heavy Nursing Workloads in Provincial Budget - Vice-President Available for Response

    TORONTO, March 22 /CNW/ - The Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA), the
union representing 53,000 front-line registered nurses and allied health
professionals, will be looking for permanent relief for the heavy workloads of
nurses in today's provincial budget. Registered nurses are working thousands
of hours of overtime, becoming ill and injured due to their heavy workloads.
ONA members want to ensure patients receive the care they deserve.
    ONA 1st Vice-President Vicki McKenna, RN, will be available for comment
at the Ontario Legislature today at approximately 4:00 pm.
