Media advisory - No time for another budget diet designed to reduce debt and revenues

OTTAWA, Feb. 25 /CNW Telbec/ - Waiting for budget day, the Public Service
Alliance of Canada (PSAC) wonders if the Conservative government will take the
opportunity to get Canadians off its debt and revenue reduction diet by
shunning more tax reductions and obsessive debt repayment. The alternative is
to put that money to work by investing in social programs and federal public
services designed to tackle pressing issues such as poverty, economic
disparity and environmental protection.
PSAC National President John Gordon and PSAC Regional Executive
Vice-President for the National Capital Region Ed Cashman will provide their
comments following the budget speech.

    Date: February 26, 2008

Time: Immediately after the conclusion of the budget speech

Place: Railway Committee Room (253-D), Centre Block,
            Parliament Hill
