Media advisory - New vehicle training in Valcartier and command exercice for Afghanistan

    VALCARTIER GARRISON, QC, March 21 /CNW Telbec/ - Media representatives
are invited to two subsequent activities in Valcartier, Thursday, March 22, at
10:00 A.M.:

    1- Presentation of the NEW armoured vehicle RG-31

    The media representatives will be able to observe the RG-31 for the first
time in Valcartier and participate as a co-driver in a trial circuit. A
specialist will be available to answer questions and clarify technical aspects
of the vehicle.
    The RG-31 is an armoured vehicle designed to give a high level of
protection to soldiers during patrols, liaison and command tasks. The RG-31 is
a recent acquisition by the Canadian Forces and is now used in current
operations in Afghanistan.

    2- Joint Task Force - Afghanistan Headquarters Exercise

    The media representatives will be able to attend an operational exercise
allowing staff members to practice the planning and execution of operations.
This predeployment training is an essential step before the final exercise
that will take place in Wainwright (Alberta) in May 2007.

    Media representatives must be at the front gate of the Valcartier
Garrison on March 22, at 9:45 A.M.
