Media advisory - New report to reveal "where the money's (really) gone" for affordable housing

    OTTAWA, Sept. 25 /CNW Telbec/ - A coalition of housing experts will
announce, during a news conference on Thursday, the findings of a new report
that shows a dramatic plunge in government spending on affordable housing. The
group will also outline what needs to be done to fix the housing crisis.
    On hand to speak to the report's findings will be Sharon Chisholm,
Executive Director of the Canadian Housing Renewal Association, along with
other representatives of Canada's major community-based, non-profit housing
groups, including Nick Sidor, Director of Corporate Affairs, Co-operative
Housing Federation of Canada; Karen Charlton, President of CHRA and Manager of
Social Development for the City of Medicine Hat, Alberta and Derek Ballantyne,
CEO of Toronto Community Housing Corporation.
    Housing analyst Steve Pomeroy, who authored the report, "Where's the
Money Gone: An Analysis of Declining Government Housing Expenditures", will be
available to answer questions about the report's results after the press
