Media advisory - Montreal based international singer-songwriter Chantal Chamandy to perform at the Pyramids in Egypt on September 7

    Gérard Pullicino to direct show that will air on PBS in March 2008

    MONTREAL, Aug. 20 /CNW Telbec/ - A team of Quebeckers will be leaving for
Cairo in the next few days to produce a unique concert that will be presented
on September 7 before the Great Pyramid of Giza, with permission from the
Egyptian government, entitled Chantal Chamandy, Beladi A Night at the
    Montreal singer-songwriter Chantal Chamandy, who has Egyptian roots, will
be performing with the Cairo Symphony Orchestra along with her band and
dancers. The show will be distributed to all the PBS television stations
across United States. As well, the show is being presented for licensing in
October at MIPCOM in Cannes. The show will be directed by Gérard Pullicino,
who has already produced and directed performances by Celine Dion, Johnny
Hallyday, Joe Cocker and Madonna.
    An impressive artistic and technical team from Quebec will be
participating in this endeavour, including Guy St-Amour, who was associated
with Cirque du Soleil's Love and was producer of Tohu. Geneviève
Dorion-Coupal, co-artistic director with Chantal Chamandy, and the show's
choreographer (Cirque du Soleil, Génération Motown, Unison by Celine Dion,)
and lighting designer Matthieu Larrivée (Simple Plan, Diana Krall, Alanis
Morissette) will also be among those accompanying Chantal Chamandy to Egypt.
