Media Advisory - Mayor of Woodstock to Issue Provincewide Conservation Challenge

    Summer-long drive builds on Energy Conservation Week awareness

    WOODSTOCK, ON, May 19 /CNW/ - Woodstock Mayor Michael Harding will
challenge mayors from across Ontario to say Count Me In! to the Community
Conservation Challenge Day to take place on the sixth anniversary of the
infamous blackout - August 14th.
    Mayor Harding will issue an energy conservation challenge to fellow
municipal leaders across Ontario at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, as part
of Ontario's ongoing Energy Conservation Week activities.
    Mayor Harding will be joined in person and by phone by several mayors who
have already accepted his challenge as well as representatives of the
Association of Municipalities of Ontario, Energy Distributors Association,
Independent Electricity System Operator and Ontario Power Authority.

and every Ontarian will be challenged to see who can save the most energy.
    Energy Conservation Week 2009 is a provincewide initiative co-ordinated,
in partnership, by the Ontario Power Authority, The Ontario Ministry of Energy
and Infrastructure, the Independent Electricity System Operator, the
Electricity Distributors Association, Hydro One, the Association of
Municipalities of Ontario and the City of Toronto.
