MILTON, ON, Sept. 4 /CNW/ - Mattamy Homes invites members of the media to
join special guests at our September 6th official opening of what we consider
to be the ultimate in "Home Delivery."
We have developed a way of building complete homes indoors. Finished in
almost every respect, inside and out, these high quality homes are built in a
controlled environment, unhindered by the weather.
Mattamy's new Stelumar plant in Milton, which began operations in early
August, manufactures high quality homes in only ten days at the rate of one a
day. Up to 3,300 square feet in size and 30 tonnes in weight, the homes are
moved to concrete foundations in the surrounding subdivision on a large,
sophisticated transporter. Then, brickwork and service connections are added.
Among special guests scheduled to attend are Ontario Municipal Affairs
and Housing Minister John Gerretsen, Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr, Milton
Mayor Gordon Krantz, Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette, Oakville Mayor Rob
Burton, Burlington Mayor Cam Jackson and other elected officials and Karen
Kinsley, President and CEO of Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
Following the official ceremonies, Mattamy President and CEO Peter Gilgan
and Stelumar President Ron Cauchi will be available for questions from the
B-roll of Mattamy's innovative manufacturing techniques will be offered.
