    MONTREAL, Sept. 6 /CNW Telbec/ - On the occasion of International 
Literacy Day, the Literacy Foundation, in conjunction with the Ministry of
Education, Recreation and Sport, invites you to a press conference in the
presence of Minister Michelle Courchesne.

    Subject:  In 2007, there is more cause for concern than ever before:
              800,000 Quebecers aged 16-65 are illiterate, and 49% rank below
              the "desirable" threshold for functioning easily in society. It
              is with the specific intention of combating indifference and
              forcing illiteracy to retreat that the Literacy Foundation has
              chosen this symbolic day to unveil its public service campaign
              and its new institutional signature, designed without charge by
              the bleublancrouge agency.
