Media Advisory - Lieutenant Governor David C. Onley, receives massive donation of books at The Bishop Strachan School

    TORONTO, June 15 /CNW/ - On Tuesday, June 16 at 11am, Lieutenant Governor
of Ontario, David Onley, will visit The Bishop Strachan School to accept books
donated by the school's Grade 6 class, as well as more than 5000 volumes from
Scholastic Canada, for the Lieutenant Governor's Aboriginal Summer Reading
Book Drive.
    This is the fourth Lieutenant Governor's Book Drive, which collects new
books for fly-in First Nation communities in northern Ontario. Books can be
dropped off at any Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment throughout the
province, and within Toronto at any Toronto Police Service station until June
21, 2009, the first day of summer and National Aboriginal Day.
    "I would like Ontarians to know that they still have time to make an
important contribution of a new book or two during this final week of the
drive," said the Lieutenant Governor.
    The Honourable David C. Onley will be on hand to personally accept the
books donated by the Grade 6 students of The Bishop Strachan School and
Scholastic Canada.
