Media Advisory - Increasing Burden of Cancer Beginning to Strain Parts of System

    2009 Quality Index Reports on Ontario's Cancer System

    TORONTO, April 27 /CNW/ - The 2009 Cancer System Quality Index (CSQI)
shows gains being made in the fight against cancer, as demonstrated through
lower smoking rates and better screening and care for colorectal cancer
patients. However, this year's CSQI also reports that the increasing burden of
cancer is beginning to strain parts of the cancer system. The 2009 CSQI is
being launched on April 28.
