Media Advisory - Front-Line Ontario Nurses to Meet in Ottawa: Ontario Nurses' Association to Discuss Health-Care Issues

    TORONTO, June 2 /CNW/ - Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) President
Linda Haslam-Stroud, RN, will join more than 100 registered nursing leaders
from across the province as ONA holds its Provincial Coordinators Meeting at
the Westin Hotel in Ontario on June 4 and 5.
    Registered nurses in Ontario face many challenges, including the nursing
shortage, workplace violence, heavy workloads and excessive overtime - and
ironically, layoffs.
    While media are not invited into the nurses' business sessions,
Haslam-Stroud is available for media interviews over the two days.

    ONA is the union representing 54,000 registered nurses and allied health
professionals working in Ontario hospitals, long-term care facilities, public
health, the community and industry.
