    Fete for former prime minister September 17 in Montreal

    MONTREAL, Sept. 4 /CNW/ - Friends and supporters will gather September
17, at 5:30pm at Le Centre Sheraton Hotel Montreal to celebrate the 25th
anniversary of the swearing in of The Right Honourable Brian Mulroney's first
majority government. Mulroney's nine years as Prime Minister were marked by
historic events, important decisions and major accomplishments.
    This event is a celebration of the 1984 victory that ushered in nearly a
decade of Progressive Conservative majority government. The event will bring
together friends from across Canada to celebrate one of the most successful
and influential prime ministers and governments in recent Canadian history.
The event is open to both media and general public. The event is co-chaired
two former cabinet colleagues in the Mulroney government, Jean Charest and
Michael Wilson.
