Media advisory - Federal Minister of International Cooperation to attend FCM's 72nd Annual Conference in Whistler, June 6

    OTTAWA, June 3 /CNW Telbec/ - The Federation of Canadian Municipalities
(FCM) will host the Honourable Beverley J. Oda, Minister of International
Cooperation, on June 6 at its 72nd Annual Conference and Municipal Expo(TM) in
Whistler, B.C., where the minister will address delegates on the partnership
between the Government of Canada and municipal government in the area of
international cooperation in the current global context.
    Minister Oda will also recognize the participation of Canadian volunteers
in municipal international cooperation during FCM's Awards Ceremony:
Celebrating Excellence, and visit the display of the Government of Canada's
Afghanistan 360 kiosk and answer any media questions.
    Jean Perrault, FCM President and Mayor of Sherbrooke, Que., will present
the awards with the minister during the awards presentation.
