    WHAT:     Opening Ceremony of the 5th Science Centre World Congress

              Representatives from federal, provincial and municipal levels
              of government will welcome over 400 science centre leaders from
              six continents to the 5th Science Centre World Congress.
              Following the opening ceremonies, Jennifer Corriero, co-founder
              and Executive Director of TakingITGLobal (TIG) will deliver her
              keynote speech "Creating the Future". TIG is an online
              community that fosters youth leadership and activism through
              social networks and digital technology. Corriero will be joined
              via web link by TIG members in China, Egypt and Argentina to
              discuss the power of technology and the Internet to inspire
              positive global change.

    About the 5th World Science Centre Congress
    The Ontario Science Centre is hosting the 5th Science Centre World
Congress from June 15 to 19, 2008 at the Metro Toronto
Convention Centre. Themed Science Centres as Agents of Change-Locally,
Nationally and Internationally, this is the first time the congress is being
held in North America. This triennial international event brings together CEOs
and senior decision makers from the world's leading science centres to discuss
issues and opportunities in the field, and the central role science
organizations play in increasing the public's engagement with science.
