Corporation (CMHC) at Construct Canada.

Two winners of CMHC's EQuilibrium initiative will present their
companies' net zero energy demonstration homes' innovative designs and
construction features. Brad Berneche will highlight the modular house by
Alouette Homes. Andrew Pride will show Minto Development's new Inspiration -
The Minto EcoHome that will be featured in a subdivision near Ottawa.
Presentation to the Home Builders audience
Nov 28th - 2:30 - 4:00 p.m.
Presentations by two innovative builders, part of CMHC's EQuilibrium
initiative, will explain how they seek to achieve the net zero energy Healthy
Housing(TM) goals, employing alternative energy sources. Lorraine Gauthier,
representing the Toronto Now House development team and Andrew Pride of Minto
Development, will present the builders' point of view, describing the unique
aspects of their innovative projects - the first a retrofit of a Toronto
post-war house, the second is in a new suburban Ottawa development.
EQuilibrium is a national housing design and demonstration initiative led
by CMHC. It combines government, industry and consumer efforts to develop
low-impact healthy housing in sustainable communities across the country.
EQuilibrium homes rely on resource- and energy-efficient technologies in order
to produce as much energy as they consume annually. They also provide
healthier and more comfortable living spaces for their occupants.
