    TORONTO, June 4 /CNW/ - STORE 2007, Canada's Retail Conference, which
runs today and tomorrow, is expected to attract approximately 700 retail
executives, suppliers and vendors to Toronto's Congress Centre. Presented by
Retail Council of Canada (RCC), this two-day event offers an innovative and
interactive environment where retailers can come together to hear from their
peers and industry experts, discuss issues and exchange innovative ideas to do
business and build relationships. This year's conference theme, "The Customer
Experience," will deliver a roster of speakers who understand how to meet
customer needs, solve problems and anticipate what customers will want next.

    -   Excellence in Retailing Awards Dinner, Monday, June 4, 6:30 -
        9:30 p.m., recognizes the 2007 Lifetime Achievement Award winner,
        Walter J. Hachborn of Home Hardware; the 2007 Distinguished Canadian
        Retailer of the Year, Mario Pilozzi of Wal-Mart Canada; and, the Visa
        Ambassador Award recipient, Bidgood's Supermarket of Newfoundland and
        Labrador. Fifteen other awards will also be presented at the Dinner.
    -   Canadian Retail Hall of Fame Luncheon, Tuesday, June 5, 1:30 -
        3 p.m., will honour Steve Matyas of STAPLES Business Depot as the
        2007 inductee into the Canadian Retail Hall of Fame. RCC will also
        present $24,000 in scholarships to students seeking a career in the
        retail industry.
