Media Advisory - CUPFA strike and demonstration

    MONTREAL, March 30 /CNW Telbec/ - CUPFA - the Concordia University
Part-time Faculty Association - will be on the picket lines twice tomorrow: 1)
at the Concordia University Board of Governor's meeting at 8 AM Monday March
31 at the corner of MacKay & Ste. Catherine; and 2) at the GM (Guy Metro)
Building 1550 De Maisonneuve Blvd, W., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    On Wednesday CUPFA announced it was beginning strike action against the
University's administration after 6 years of fruitless negotiations. CUPFA's
900 members teach 40% of Concordia University courses. As previously
announced, rotating strikes will continue throughout the week.
    CUPFA has the support of both the Concordia community and other outside
organizations, but especially the support from the Concordia Student Union,
along with the student federation representing all university students in the
province of Quebec.
