Media advisory - Colonel Daniel Genest to command 5 area support group

    SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU, QC, Jan. 28 /CNW Telbec/ - Members of the media
are invited to attend the 5 Area Support Group (5 ASG) assumption of command
ceremony for Colonel Daniel Genest at Saint-Jean Garrison on January 30, 2009.
    5 ASG is a formation made up of its headquarters in Montreal and more
than 60 sites. Among the most important sites are Montreal, Valcartier and
Saint-Jean Garrisons, the Quebec Citadel, the Farnham training centre and the
St-Hubert and St-Bruno sites. 5 ASG is a very effective organisation and
consists of some 3,700 Canadian Forces members and civilian employees. It is
responsible for supporting 141 units and 33,000 persons within National
Defence located in the province of Quebec area.
    Media representatives will have the opportunity to meet the new
Commander, Colonel Daniel Genest, as well as a few other members of 5 ASG.

                   When: Friday, 30 January, at 2:00 p.m.

                   Where: Saint-Jean Garrison, Hangar HD4.

    Due to the protocol surrounding this official function, media
representatives are asked to use the Gouin gate and to arrive no later than
1:30 p.m. at Hangar HD4 on Saint-Jean Garrison.
