TORONTO, March 28 /CNW/ - The College of Physicians and Surgeons of
Ontario will release the results of its 2006 registration statistics and
annual survey of Ontario physicians on Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 8:00 a.m.
Nearly 28,000 physicians or 98 per cent of the physician population in
Ontario responded to the 2006 survey making this the largest known survey of
physicians in Canada.
Highlights of the report include:
- A record number of licenses issued to doctors in Ontario in 2006, the
largest number in the College's history.
- More licenses issued in 2006 to international medical graduates than
- Changing demographics of the physician population.
