Media Advisory - City of Toronto's annual spring clean-up underway

    TORONTO, April 3 /CNW/ - The City's annual spring clean-up is now
underway. The operating divisions taking part include Solid Waste Management
Services (the lead); Transportation Services; Municipal, Licensing and
Standards; Parks, Forestry and Recreation; and Toronto Water, who through
their daily work, are responsible for keeping Toronto a cleaner, more
beautiful place. These divisions, with staff support from the City's agencies,
boards and commissions, are collaborating on the annual Operations Spring
Clean-up. This clean-up began Monday, April 2 and runs for three weeks. It
leads directly into two key components of Toronto's Clean and Beautiful City
Initiative - the 20-Minute Toronto Makeover on April 20, and Mayor David
Miller's Community Clean-up Day on April 21.

    Date:        Monday, April 2 (for approximately three weeks)

    Time/Place:  The clean-up happens daily in four different areas of the
                 city. Maps outlining the daily schedule organized by

    Resources:   323 pieces of equipment/543 staff dedicated to the spring
                 Operations Clean-up
