Media advisory - Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance and Canadian Police Research Centre release major study of First Responders

    OTTAWA, Dec. 11 /CNW Telbec/ - On Thursday December 13, the Canadian
Advanced Technology Alliance (CATA) and the Canadian Police Research Centre
(CPRC) will release the results of its 2007 study Keeping Canadians Safe: A
Technology, Research and Development, and Emergency Preparedness Situational
Analysis of Canadian First Responders.
The study presents results from a survey, the country's first, of
144 Chiefs (or equivalent) from Fire, Police, Paramedic and Emergency Response
Organizations. The survey is intended to better understand their use and
application of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), identify
common issues and trends, and clarify the significance and the role that the
CPRC could provide in working with all Canadian First Responders. The results
identify some critical factors inhibiting First Responders' ability to deliver
the best possible service in emergency situations.
