Media advisory - Brockville city workers launch campaign against privatization - "We Work For You", CUPE workers tell community

    BROCKVILLE, ON, Oct. 23 /CNW Telbec/ - This Sunday, Brockville's
municipal workers launch their campaign to keep quality local municipal
services public and under local control and away from for-profit companies.
    Workers, members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE)
Local 115, and their families will gather at the Brockville Memorial Centre
from 3 to 7 PM.
    Local charitable organizations will be presented with donations from
CUPE 115 to support their important work. The recipients are Big Brothers &
Big Sisters, Girls Inc., Loaves & Fishes and Operation Harvest Sharing.

              Donations to charities will be presented at 5:30 PM

    CUPE 115 President Jason Barlow will be on hand to speak to media about
the union's concerns about the City's plans to contract out important
municipal services and programs. Sunday's event will bring people together for
fun but also to raise awareness about potential loss of services to cuts and
contracting out to for-profit companies.
