Media Advisory - BILD and TRCA Begin Construction on State-of-the-Art Environmental House

    New project will showcase sustainable options to support a vibrant,
    living future

    TORONTO, July 7 /CNW/ - The Building Industry and Land Development
Association (BILD) and Toronto and Region Conservation (TRCA) will launch
construction on the Archetype Sustainable House at the Kortright Centre in the
City of Vaughan tomorrow. Together with municipal and provincial dignitaries,
and more than 150 volunteers, the blitz construction will take place on this
state-of-the-art facility over the course of only 17 days.
    The project consists of a semi-detached unit: the first house showcasing
environmentally sensitive methods of building currently available and the
second unit showcasing the future of building green. The Archetype Sustainable
House will showcase one of the best in conservation, energy efficiency,
renewable energy, and sustainable technologies of any house in North America.

           TRCA CAO Brian Denney, Peter Love, Chief Energy Conservation
           Officer for the Ontario Power Authority, and Leith Moore, Vice-
           President of the Sorbara Development Group, to be followed by
           brief speeches.
