Media Advisory - Aussie Celebrity Chef & Winemaker Team Up With Earls Across Western Canada


    VANCOUVER, March 6 /CNW/ - Earls Executive chef Michael Noble, the first
Canadian to appear on the Iron Chef in Japan, will host Australian Celebrity
TV Chef Jason Roberts and Casella winemaker Phillip Casella of Yellow Tail on
a Western Canadian tour. They will travel to Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and
Vancouver as Earls salutes the Aussies during the month of March with a "We've
Gone Australian" promotion in 50 locations. In Vancouver, the trio will host
"Get UnCorked," a Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival grazing
event to be held at Earls Paramount on March 26.
    Jason Roberts was apprenticed at one of Sydney's top restaurants where he
won Apprentice of the Year in 1993. Soon after he joined the renowned Bistro
Moncur, and worked his way up to Executive chef. Roberts was featured in a
newspaper article on Sydney's 'new breed of chefs' and soon became a TV host
and cookbook author. He is a regular guest on Good Morning America.
    Noble and Roberts will use Australian olive oil and lamb, and exotic
herbs and spices like lemon myrtle also known as Oz lemon and wattle seed, a
pod from the wattle bush with coffee, chocolate and hazelnut flavors. Casella
will pair the dishes with Yellow Tail wines including the just-released
riesling and Yellow Tail bubbles.
