    "Assembling A Galaxy" showcases all aspects of the Star Wars legend

    TORONTO, June 26 /CNW/ - 30 years ago, Star Wars blasted its way on to
movie screens in Toronto. To celebrate this milestone anniversary for the
Toronto premiere of the original "Star Wars", an exhibit of exciting and
eye-catching items will be featured at the Design Exchange. Titled "Assembling
A Galaxy", this marks the first exhibit of its type held in Canada.
    On June 24, 1977 Toronto moviegoers are treated to a feast for the eyes
as never seen before when George Lucas' masterpiece "Star Wars" premieres on
four screens across the city. Bold and dazzling new special effects combined
with a riveting storyline result in a cinematic phenomenon which ultimately
takes the world by storm and ushers in a new era of cinematic entertainment.
Thirty years later, we celebrate this marvel with an eye-catching exhibit of
elements and items derived from a wondrous universe... Let your imagination
launch on seeing original production pieces, film frames, autographs,
advertising, toys, games, novels, comic books, trading cards, fan merchandise,
and a host of other exciting collectibles culled from all facets of this
cornerstone of science fiction.

enthralling exhibit, to commemorate the Canadian connection to the debut of
this revolutionary science fiction powerhouse."
    "In building the collection, I wished to go beyond any one single
component of Star Wars, and encompass them all, with special emphasis on 'the
firsts' as pertaining to the saga," comments Ian Anthony, Curator for
"Assembling A Galaxy". "It is an honour to have the opportunity to display
these artifacts from times long ago and places far, far away, for other fans
and enthusiasts to enjoy seeing these interesting and thought-provoking

    ASSEMBLING A GALAXY opens June 29 and runs until August 25, 2007,
exclusively within The Design Exchange, 234 Bay Street, Toronto.

    ABOUT IAN ANTHONY: A film and comic fan for as long as he can remember,
Ian Anthony was born and raised in Port Lambton, a village between Sarnia and
Chatham, Ontario. Mr. Anthony currently serves as the Historian for Rogers
Communications Inc., and is an award-winning science fiction novelist as well
as a freelance author.
