Media Advisory - Air Transport Association of Canada (ATAC) to Unveil Independent Review of Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Commercial Aviation Operations in Canada

    OTTAWA, Oct. 31 /CNW Telbec/ - ATAC announces that it will unveil the
first comprehensive and independent review of greenhouse gas emissions from
commercial aviation operations in Canada during its 73rd Annual General
Meeting and Trade Show from November 4-6, 2007, at the World Trade and
Convention Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
    The report, prepared by noted international aviation consultants, Jacobs
Consultancy, will be released concurrently with the start of the main plenary
session at the AGM on Monday November 5 at 10am, AST. The full report,
including an executive summary, will be available at the plenary session and
on our website;
    During the plenary session, the report's author, Matthew Bol, will make a
presentation highlighting the report's key findings. Bol will be joined by a
high-level panel of aviation experts to provide their own unique perspectives
on the theme of this year's session; "Aviation and the Environment: Clearing
the Air". The full panel is comprised of:

    - Matthew Bol, Director, Jacobs Consultancy Canada Inc.
    - John Crichton, President & CEO, NAV CANADA
    - Gunther Matschnigg, Senior Vice President, Safety Operations and
      Infrastructure, IATA
    - Mike Tretheway, Executive Vice President, InterVISTAS Consulting
    - Jeanne Yu, Director of Environmental Performance, Boeing Commercial
    - Moderator: Perry Flint, Editorial Director, Air Transport World

    In addition, Transport Minister Lawrence Cannon will be our keynote
speaker at the opening luncheon on Monday November 5, from 12:30-2:00pm.
Members of the media are invited to attend any or all of the AGM. Those
wishing to do so must register in person at the main registration desk for the
ATAC AGM on level 1 of the World Trade and Convention Centre in Halifax.
