what is happening but rather how fast it is occurring.
Public and private sector leaders will discuss adaptation measures
required to address the effects of climate change at Adapting to Climate
Change: Business Planning, Risk Management, Emergency Preparedness, hosted by
The Conference Board of Canada, January 22 - 23, in Ottawa.
Who: Cassie Doyle, Deputy Minister, Natural Resources Canada, will
present Ottawa's Perspective on Climate Change Adaptation, at
1:00 p.m., Tuesday.
The Hon. John A. Fraser, Chair, BC Pacific Salmon Forum and
formerly Canada's Ambassador for the Environment, Minister of
the Environment and of Fisheries, and Speaker, House of Commons,
Daniel Gagnier, Chair, International Institute for Sustainable
Development and former Senior Vice-President, Corporate and
External Relations, Alcan, Inc., and The Hon. David Pratt,
former Minister of National Defence and now Special Advisor,
Auxiliary Role Project, Canadian Red Cross, will discuss
Canada's top adaptation challenges, at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday.
The Hon. Gordon Campbell, Premier of British Columbia, will
provide a provincial perspective on climate change adaptation
challenges, at 12:40 p.m., Wednesday.
