Media advisory - 30 Canadian communities partake in day of action to demand energy strategy for Canada

    OTTAWA, Jan. 31 /CNW Telbec/ - On February 2, activists in 30 communities
across the country will be marking Canada's first national energy day of
action by holding activities and events to demand a Canadian energy strategy.
The day of action was launched by the Council of Canadians to raise awareness
on Canada's lack of an energy policy addressing the environmental and societal
costs of energy development in Canada.

The Council of Canadians is Canada's largest citizens' advocacy
organization with 76 volunteer chapters across the country. We work to promote
progressive policies on fair trade, clean water, energy security, public
health care, and other issues of social and economic concern to Canadians.
Jean-Yves Lefort, energy campaigner for the Council of Canadians will be
available for interviews.
