FLORENCEVILLE, NB, Dec. 19 /CNW/ - McCain Foods Limited announced today
its intent to invest C$150 million for the construction of a new plant in the
Pacific Northwest. The facility will be designed to produce French fries and
potato specialties primarily for food service and quick service restaurant
customers in the United States and international markets.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2008 pending final
approvals. Start-up of the facility is anticipated for late summer 2009.
