Mattamy Homes is 2007 home builder of the year

    TORONTO, April 30 /CNW/ - Mattamy Homes was named 2007 home builder of
the year by the home building industry and land development association
(GTHBA-UDI) at the 27th annual home builder awards.
    The coveted home builder of the year award speaks not only to
construction quality and after-sales service, but to the entire new home
buying experience from the first point of contact with the home buyer right
through closing and into the occupancy stage. The winner is determined based
on the association's survey of the builder's recent occupants in various
    "On a 100 point scale, Mattamy scored an astounding 98.4 per cent," said
Stephen Dupuis, CEO of the association. "Mattamy's purchasers registered
nearly 150 written comments in addition to the numeric ratings, and only one
of those comments could be interpreted as mildly critical - the rest were
effusive in praise of Mattamy," he said.
    The home builder of the year award was established by the association in
1998 to raise the bar in the industry and this is the second time Mattamy has
captured the prize in the award's short history.
    "We love the way Mattamy's buyers are talking up new homes - that's
exactly what we wanted from this award - and we congratulate Mattamy and all
the finalists for their commitment to our broader industry goals," Dupuis

    On the sales process . . .
    "The sales process was amazing! When we first went to see the sales
office they sent us home with tons of literature on the home building process.
They made us feel really comfortable with the whole process and we did not
feel rushed at all."

point that we became friends. We laugh because Mattamy calls us more than our
