TORONTO, Nov. 6 /CNW/ - Mantis Mineral Corp ('Mantis'--CNQ 'MINE') is
pleased to announce that it has increased its land holdings at its 100% owned
Orphan (Dik-Dik) Mine Project.
The new land acquisition included staking 5-contiguous claims totaling
1,280-hectares, located 3,000-meters north east of Mantis' Orphan Mine. The
claims are strategically located in proximity to the Kaby Lake stock. This
stock is an important felsic intrusive body which hosts numerous gold
structures including the Orphan Mine Main Vein which produced 3,525-tons of
ore grading 0.689 ounces per ton gold, and the Foisey vein system which has
returned assays up to 0.62 ounces per ton.
Robin Ross commented, "We are pleased that we were able to increase our
land holdings surrounding the Orphan Mine in the Beardmore-Geraldton
greenstone belt. We are initiating an important program there and surface work
to date along with historical results and production all indicate that we are
poised to uncover a potentially widespread gold mineralized system."
