Make the TREE OF HOPE glow and grow

TORONTO, Nov. 11 /CNW/ - Torontonians can bring a towering promise of
light and life to SickKids Foundation by donating to the 2007 LINDT AND HILTON
TREE OF HOPE fundraising campaign. The LINDT AND HILTON TREE OF HOPE kicks off
this week at the Hilton Toronto, 145 Richmond Street West, Toronto on
Thursday, November 15, at 6 p.m. with a star-studded tree-lighting ceremony
featuring musical performances by award-wining singer/songwriter Kim Stockwood
(Shaye), the Canadian Children's Opera Chorus, and appearances by members of
the National Ballet's The Nutcracker and the Toronto Argonauts. This year's
50-foot tree pays a special tribute to patients and staff of the Hospital for
Sick Children with a one-of-a-kind design by Mag Ruffman (Road to Avonlea,
Lindt and Hilton Toronto hope to surpass last year's total of $26,000
through innovative ways to donate, from bidding on two luxury travel packages
on to indulging in chocolate-infused desserts and
cocktails at the Hilton Toronto or enjoying the Hilton Buffet Breakfast. In
addition, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of select products at the
three Lindt boutiques in the GTA will also be donated, as well as from the
sale of Lindt Ornaments and Advent Calendars in the Hilton Toronto lobby. In
addition, $2 from every special feature dessert ordered by groups celebrating
the holidays at Hilton Toronto will be donated.
An activity area at this free family-friendly event will allow kids to
design their own miniature version of the Tree of Hope. Assisted by local
celebrities, kids will be able to draw and decorate their own Tree of Hope;
the resulting artwork will be on display in Adelaide Place and the PATH
throughout the holiday season. Sampling of Lindt's Swiss Tradition pralines
and hot chocolate will sweeten the festivities.
