MacDonald Mines Drill Program Underway in James Bay Lowlands

TORONTO, July 11 /CNW/ - MacDonald Mines Exploration Ltd. (TSX
VENTURE:BMK) ("MacDonald" or the "Company") is pleased to announce it has
commenced it's 2008 drill program. The drill program will cover multiple
targets on five project areas in the "Ring of Fire" District of the James Bay
Lowlands and will operate through to the end of October 2008. The drill is
currently positioned on the McNugget Property in close proximity to
MacDonald's Butler Camp.

    Drill Program Recap

Approximately 40 holes, totaling 8,000 metres will be diamond-drilled
within five of the Company's project areas, where each individual project area
represents a separate property within MacDonald Mines' extensive land position
of 86,000+ hectares. The five properties are made up of distinct but separate
claim groups distributed over a wide geographical area that is underlain by
similar geology.

The drill program will focus on geophysically defined targets on the
following five Project Areas;

    1. McNugget Property (100% MacDonald owned, including 6 claim Hawk
        Uranium JV Property)
    2. Salo Property (100% MacDonald owned)
    3. Wellington Property (MacDonald, Canadian Orebodies, Coordinates
        Capital Corp.)
    4. Adelaide Property (MacDonald, Temex, Canadian Orebodies)
    5. Hornby Property (MacDonald and Temex)

MacDonald is modeling its drill targets using criteria from previous
drilling, current exploration information and MacDonald geological data. Kirk
McKinnon, President and CEO commented, "MacDonald is very fortunate in that we
have more high-quality targets to drill than time will allow before the Winter
freeze in late October. Our exploration team has outlined targets that bear
the necessary Noront-style signatures and features, and it is these targets
where the potential is highest to host mineralization of significance."
